At Finca la Vigia, Ernest Hemingway first wrote the novel “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, a drama from the Spanish Civil War, which he had reported on as a journalist in the early 1930s.
In 1951, Hemingway wrote his most famous book “The Old Man and the Sea” here.
Famous visitors to the house were Hollywood actors Katharine Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Errol Flynn, and Spencer Tracy.
One of the most famous “Hemingway places” in Havana is his favorite bar “Floridita“. Here Hemingway used to drink a good daiquiri. More specifically, Hemingway has had more than just one drink.
0930: Visit the Hemingway Museum, Finca Vigía, the House of Hemingway in Havana for more than 20 years converted into a Museum in 1961.
Departure to the fishing town of Cojimar, located east of Havana. The renowned US writer frequently visited this town and where he stored his boat El Pilar. You can visit the home of his dear friend the late Gregorio Fuentes who accompanied Hemingway in all of his adventures through the waters of the Gulf.
12:00 Visit La Terraza de Cojímar, appreciate all the pictures of Hemingway in Cojímar during the fifties, place where he used to chat with fishermen and with his very good friend Gregorio also the captain of his Yacht Pilar, lunch included.

14:00 Walking through Plaza de Armas Square, visit the Hotel Ambos Mundos where you entrance to see the hotel´s room used by Hemingway during his first trips to Havana in the 30´s .In that room he wrote important part of his famous novel For Whom the Bell Toll. He used that same room at the Hotel before he decided to move into Havana with his wife and bought the Finca Vigía
